One of the most often-asked questions I have, is “How did you get the name Noo-can-do!?” Well this is my story…
My story starts back in sunny Hermanus, South Africa, circa 2001. After a stint in the UK, I, Cynthia (or “Noo” to my family!), found myself back home with a creative itch and a big question mark about what to do next. Luckily, my amazing mom, Beulah, was right there with me, and together we decided to dive into the world of handmade greeting cards.
We started small, really small, at our local Saturday Craft Market at Lemm’s Corner- and then moved to the Hermanus Country Market (where we are still trading – so pop in and visit us). But we knew we wanted to build something special, something that reflected our passion and our faith. After a bit of soul-searching (and a lot of prayer), we found our inspiration in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” And since “Noo” was my family nickname, “Noo-Can-Do” was born!
From those humble market beginnings, we’ve grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. You can now find our handmade cards in select bookstores and gift shops all over South Africa, including some Exclusive Books, Bargain Books and Wordsworth Books and before Covid we even supplied @home stores countrywide. We love creating unique designs for our clients and are always excited to explore new opportunities.
At Noo-Can-Do, we’re passionate about paying attention to the little things. We believe in quality, excellence, and exceptional service. And most importantly, we strive to build strong, lasting relationships with every single one of our clients.
So, whether you’re looking for the perfect greeting card to brighten someone’s day or dreaming of stunning wedding stationery that tells your love story, we’re here to help you “Noo-Can-Do” it!
Warmly,
Cynthia Young
